Over P4.4 million worth of shabu were seized in Sampaloc, Manila Tuesday night by authorities from a suspected runner of a dismissed police officer who still allegedly sells drugs from inside his cell at the Manila City Jail.

Recovered in the buy-bust operation were seven large packs containing suspected shabu estimated to weigh around 650 grams from the suspect identified as Amelita Sabino, according to a police spot report on Wednesday.

Initial investigation revealed that Sabino is a runner of Jolly Lapuz Aliangan, a dismissed Police Ofificer 2 (PO2) who was previously detailed with the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and has been detained at the Manila City Jail since May 2016 for drug charges.

Police said Sabino’s arrest has revealed that Aliangan is still engaged in the illegal drug trade in Metro Manila and Calabarzon.

Police also recovered from the boodle money worth P800,000 from the suspect.

Drug charges are now being prepared against Sabino before the Office of City Prosecutor of City of Manila. /muf
