The non-profit organization I Am Hope, spearheaded by actress Bea Alonzo and her friend and movie producer Rina Navarro, was able to collect P6.036 million in one month for its COVID-19 relief efforts.

Alonzo’s team distributed food, vitamins, personal protective equipment (PPE) and other medical supplies to 27 hospitals and 17 communities, as seen on the actress’ Instagram post yesterday, May 1.

The “Four Sisters and a Wedding” star extended her gratitude to their donors and sponsors as the organization continues its mission to help healthcare workers and other citizens affected by the pandemic.

Also included in Alonzo’s team are actor Vhong Navarro as well as Alonzo’s other friends Tricia Canilao and May Militante. She also accompanied the announcement with a series of photos documenting the initiative’s donors, donations and beneficiaries.

The monetary and in-kind donations were from the organization’s fundraiser and donation drive from March 26 to April 26.

Aside from distributing relief goods, Alonzo cooked meals for the frontline workers of the National Institute of Health at the University of the Philippines Manila.

Recently the actress and her former loveteam partner John Lloyd Cruz sent their fans into a frenzy after the two reunited via livestream to catch up with each other while in quarantine.

The actors and director Antoinette Jadaone later revealed that the whole encounter was part of the director’s experimental “Unconfined Cinema” project entitled “Love Team,” written and directed by Jadaone herself.Β  /ra
