Death Cab for Cutie has revealed that a new album called “Thank You For Today” is on the way and shared its lead single, “Gold Rush”.

The 20-year-strong indie band will release “Thank You For Today” on Aug. 17, and “Gold Rush” is the group’s first new music since their 2015 album “Kintsugi”.

On the album, longtime bandmates Ben Gibbard, Nick Harmer and Jason McGerr are joined by new members Dave Depper and Zac Rae, who have both been part of the group’s touring band since 2015.

The band recently revealed plans for an extensive headlining tour that will hit North America this fall. Among their upcoming tour dates, they visit Amsterdam and London this week, then play a handful of shows in the United States before kicking off their North American tour in Oregon on Sept. 24.

For now, they’re currently scheduled to play shows around the U.S. through Oct. 23, followed by shows in South America and Mexico November, although more dates are soon to be announced. JB
